As hard as it is to believe, it’s now 2024. Fiction from the 20th century predicted the world would look like an environmental and nuclear-war devastated wasteland by now, with the remaining humans fighting for survival in segregated and crime-infested cities. It turns out that our good and gracious God would not allow our sin to wreak that much havoc on his creation or each other, for which we should give much thanks! We truly live in a state of the Lord’s grace.
If our Lord is that good, then let us continue to do good to one another. Let us share the Good News that Jesus has brought peace on earth and heaven in his life, death and resurrection (Luke 2:14, Luke 19:38). Let us love one another – as he has loved us (John 15:12). Here’s how the Lord has been accomplishing his will through us in January 2024.
