Mid-October Update

The Synod continues to work out our transition from missionaries of the Office of International Mission to a project of the Office of National Mission. You will now find us on the “Project Catalog” page of lcms.org. Our entry is not yet completed (there’s no “learn more” button) and, of course, the 0% funded is not accurate. But this will be where Jesus’ work at Ascension will live on the LCMS homepage.

We do have a new prayer card that can be downloaded and printed, or can be requested directly from us in any number you need.

I am currently in the last half of this year’s network reconnect. It has been a joy to meet with so many followers of Jesus across the US. From Mission Central, to Zion, Hiawatha, IA; from Immanuel, Clarinda, IA to Trinity, Kalispell, MT; from the Kearney, NE LWML Zone to The Edge, Azle, TX – it has been a blessing to spend time with so many talking about Christ’s mission. To say nothing of the many in between those places who have opened their homes, kitchen tables and lives to us!

In a few days I’ll end my time in Houston, TX, visiting with many here and preaching the Word at Memorial on Sunday morning. I’ll finish my trip travelling through St. Louis, the Dayton/Cincinnati Area, and at St. Peter’s, Shaker Heights, OH. Pray for continued safe travel and good health!
