February 2022 Newsletter

First, a deep apology to all of you who have been waiting for a more “full-bodied” newsletter rather than the “decaf” version sent at the end of January. You have all been in our thoughts, just as we know we’ve been in yours. This is the first time since 2013 we have missed two months, and lo siento – “I feel it.” It’s like losing a 600-day streak in Duolingo.

Second, this newsletter will explain a little about the circumstances around my health leave. My return will likely require some changes to my workload, but I’m unsure of what those might be. Be sure I’ll keep you posted!

Third, the world when I started my leave is vastly different than the one to which I’m returning. If you’re prone to anxiety, you can take your pick of stressful news stories to follow. The clear message of a God who revealed himself in suffering and death and resurrection, and who comes to us in the mundane to bring us forgiveness and eternal life will be needed as much now as ever.

We will pray for you. We ask you all to pray for us. May the Lord Jesus Christ grant us peace in our hearts that we might boldly shine his Light in the darkness.
