Tomorrow is April Fools Day, but it’s known as “le poisson d’avril” in French-Canada. There’s a tradition of sticking a paper fish on the back of people of whom we’d like to make fun. We’re Christians, so we wear our “fish” on our sleeves! ICTHYS – the Greek word for fish, and the acronym “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour.”
We are in the second week of a federal election campaign in Canada. That campaign will be over by the time you get our next newsletter. Whichever party ends up forming a government, our king – Charles III – will still be our head of state (Lord willing), and our Lord – Jesus – will be the same yesterday, today and forever.
