Ruth Maita, who helps with communications for our team in Puerto Rico, sent the following update and beautiful pictures of the work going on there:
Last Saturday we enjoyed a church picnic to celebrate St Valentine’s Day (or as it is also called – the day of love and friendship). We had a devotion on the love of Christ, played games and shared a meal!
The process continues to secure a mercy center and church in Ponce. Pastors came to see the new potential location – William (studying to be a Pastor), Pastor Gustavo, Pastor Ricardo (visiting), Pastor Ted, and Pastor Anthony. See a picture of us visiting a potential new centre in Ponce.
Pastor Anthony DiLiberto and Pastor Gustavo Maita, fill in the vacancy in Ponce preaching, administering the sacrament, and leading bible studies on Wednesdays. We thank God for the arrival of new missionary Pastor James Neuendorf (February 28th).
The Roof repair Mercy project continues to meet the goal of helping ten new families each month. A picture is included of one house where damage from the hurricane is still evident. A new couple who has been helped recently started coming to church and they will be confirmed and the wife will also be baptized! Praise the Lord!
Also included, a beautiful Puerto Rican sunset (picture taken from the grocery store parking lot).
